Robert Louis Osborne Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert "Bob" Osborne was born on February 21st, 1936 to Virlee and Overedia Clark-Osborne in Okolona, Mississippi. Robert was brought up in the house of the Lord and he confused his faith in Christ at an early age at St. James Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee under the leadership of Pastor James Joyner. Bob loved school, he attended South Jackson Middle School and Mary High School in Jackson, Tennessee. When the family moved in 1952, Bob completed school at Emerson High School. Not too long after high school Robert found the love of his life Erma Fale Miner. The two soon got married on October 19th, 1957 and through this union raised two sons, Wayne and Bernard Osborne. The newlyweds moved to Chicago and joined Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. Robert was a hard worker and he rewarded himself with traveling. He worked at American Starter in Chicago until the family moved to Los Angeles, California. Robert quickly got a job at Kennedy Menswear and later he worked for Orange County in California where he retired. After living in California for over 37 years, Robert moved back to Gary, Indiana in 2013, then back to Chicago before making his final stop in Detroit, Michigan. Robert loved his family and friends dearly. His favorite things to do with them were watching sports, playing cards and enjoying the holidays. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Erna Osborne, son Bernard Osborne, parents, Virlee and Overedia Osborne, sisters, Ola Mae Osborne and Virnell Cain; brothers James, John, Virlee Jr. and Joseph James "Joe" Osborne. Robert leaves to cherish in his memories, his son Wayne (Valerie) Osborne, sister Robbie Osborne-Neal. Along with eight grandchildren; Wayne Jr., LaTerricka, Tamyunika, Bernard Jr., Devin, Kena Osborne Cowan (Thurman), Tinisha (Neal), and Cornelious, eight great-grandchildren; Paradyse, Brazyl, Mariyah, Neal III, Sir, King, Adyen, and Taia. Lastly, he leaves his loving daughter in law and caregiver Tammye Grubb Osborne Wilson, lifelong friends James Darico and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed.
