John Jordan Obituary

On December 3, 1941, Dock and Jane Jordan welcomed the birth of their sons; John and James (Twin). They were born and raised in Laurel, Mississippi.

John attended his first school Friendship Elementary. He later attended Shady Oaks High School then transferred to Roosevelt High School in Ellisville, Mississippi. He graduated in 1962. He played baseball. He joined Morning Star A.M.E Church in Laurel, Mississippi at an early age. John followed one of his older brother's Billy (Sammy) to Kansas City where he was employed. 

He met and married his wife, Elzire and later relocated to Detroit, Michigan where he was employed at Ford Motor Company. He retired there in 2006. After the passing of his wife, he later was reunited with his high school sweetheart Margie Nell. They were married on September 10, 1992. Margie had four children from a previous marriage. They were blessed with 14 beautiful fulfilling years together. John loved his wife with all his heart.

John departed this life on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Beaumont hospital in Wayne, Michigan at 9:37pm.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his sisters: Betty Stevens, Laurel Mississippi, Fannie Jacon,  Suitlands, Maryland. A host of nieces, nephews, he also leaves a dedicated nephew Lester Bernard and his wife Evelyn Jordan, his caregivers. Mary Nell, Redford, MI, Pendora Marie, Ypsilanti, MI, and 4 grandchildren. Proceeded in death; his parents; Doc and Janie Jordan, Earnest Lee, Eugene, Melvin, Dockie Lee, James (Pee Wee), Henry Lee and a twin at birth, Billie.
