Tom McCray Jr. was the first child born to Tom and Rosie McCray Sr., in Marengo County, Faunsdale, Alabama on January 25, 1930.
Tom attended Thomaston High School in Thomaston, Alabama, Military School and served in the United Armed Forces (Army) where he served in the Korean War. After serving his country, Tom moved to Birmingham, Alabama and then to Detroit, Michigan. He married his high school sweetheart; Delilah Hunter. Tom and Delilah were married forty-two years; she preceded him in death on March 11, 2018.
Tom was also proceeded in death by his siblings, Alice McCray Pacely, Juanita McCray Robinson, Richard McCray, Frank McCray. Lettie (Kate) McCray Zinnerman, and Willie George (Flute) McCray.
He leaves to cherish his memory his only surviving brother Pastor Adam (Viola) McCray of Birmingham, Alabama, as well as a great number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
