Theodore Massey Obituary

Theodore (Ted) Massey was born in Washington, D.C. in February of 1943 to Johnnie Mae Massey - Minor and Theodore Bynam. Much of his younger and educational years were spent growing up between the Washington D.C. and the Ypsilanti, Michigan areas where he later became and Ypsilanti High School graduate. In 1965 Ted decided to settle in Ypsilanti area while taking care of his mother who become ill. In October ofthat same year, Ted accepted a job working with Ford Motor Company's Ypsilanti Plant where he was employed for 38 years. He retired in 2003.

Ted was naturally a hard work who loved family and friends. He'd been dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend. He loved entertaining; bringing people together through joy and laughter. Ted also enjoyed boating and fishing. He was known for his famous "Annual Fish Fry". This was just one of the many ways he would spread the love. Ted was a caring many who invested and gave to so many. He always shared what he had. Whether in wisdom or in deed, he invested in people. Watch out, though!! Ted was also a notorious prankster. He'd get you one way or another using his witty tactics. Ted's contagious laughter will be sorely missed.

Ted is proceeded in death by his parents, siblings and two sons, Rinaldo Massey and Donnie Calloway.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife Betty Massey; three sons, Kevin Massey, Tyrone Massey, and Lamar Calloway, Jr; three daughters, Michelle (Bernard) Snowden, Sherrie Calloway, and Brenda Calloway; a special grandson and "buddy", Martel Wallace; other loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other members and special friends - YOU!
