Sylvia Brazelton-Hendricks Obituary
Sylvia Brazelton-Hendricks (Burns), was born on January 11, 1962 to Sylvester and Louise Adams in Detroit, Michigan both preceded her in death along with her brother Marcus Karl Adams.
Sylvia was a member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Inkster, Michigan. She became an active member of many organizations within St. Clement's and had strived to provided festive activities to brighten the experience of each member.
Sylvia was educated in the Inkster Public School System and graduated from Lutheran West High School in 1974. After graduating she attended Talladega College she was initiated and pledged within the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She also attended Madonna University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts for Gerontology. During her additional academic career, she had attended the American Institute for Paralegal Studies where she had completed Accelerated Programs pertaining to the curriculum of Criminal Law, Estates, Probate, American Jurisprudence, Malpractice, Litigation Arbitration, and Pleading.
In 1979, Sylvia married James Lewis Brazelton Sr. and both were blessed with two loving and devoted children who she loved dearly; James Lewis Brazelton Jr. and Marcus Karl Brazelton. In time, she later remarried in 1998to Morice Hendricks, where she welcomed her step-children Anthony Hendricks, Aaron Hendricks, and Melissa Hendricks into her family. In 2013 she had married Ernest Burns as her current husband.
Sylvia had numerous of jobs in the past along with a vast amount of voluntary services towards her community. Her most recent job was at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center as a Concierge. She was a dedicated employee and received numerous of awards and was recognized for her Superb Performance as an Outstanding Employee by providing most Excellent Service.
Sylvia was loved by many and an echelon among her peers, a diva in some form of fashion, a very delectable woman, filled with a smile that would brighten up any one's day. She was a strong, intelligent, and passionate woman full of adulation and would be met with sycophancy wherever she walks.
Sylvia was very elegant, ambitious, and imaginative with a passion for creativity. She held a great amount of empathy and sympathy for others and could find good in anything, even in the darkest corners of the Earth. She was magnanimous in putting others' needs before her own, especially with her children. Her matriarchal bond is profound in immutability and impeccability, thus a blessing towards her loving family.
Sylvia volunteered at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History with her mother Louise where both continued to explore their love of African-American history and culture. She had eventually found herself employed with such as enthralling experience working for the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History and fell in love with the recordings of her ancestries.
Sylvia made her transition on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Beaumont Annapolis Hospital in Wayne, Michigan. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: Her husband Ernest Burns, two loving children; James and Marcus Brazelton, Aunt Christine Rogers, Aunt Lola Rogers, Cousin Paula Hughes (Chester), Yvonne Young, Donald Rogers (Karen), and Godson Ira Ferguson. Other family members a host of cousins far and near, church members, co-workers, and many, many dear friends, whose lives she touched in so many ways. Her captivating and benevolent love will be dearly missed.
