Susie Morris Obituary
Susie Anita Conner Calloway was born October 10,1937 in Lynch, Kentucky to Clarence and Beulah Calloway. Susie Anita was reared in a Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of twelve. She was baptized at Lynch First Baptist Chruch in Lynch, Kentucky by Reverend Hallaway. She love the small coal mining town of Lynch, where the mountains were her playground and the cold crystal clear mountain streams were her drinking fountain. Her family relocated to Detroit, Michigan in 1941 when Susie was fourteen years old. She attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Northeastern High School in 1956.
Susie Anita married Robert (Bobby) Crunn Wright in 1957. Two beautiful children; Robyn Kimberly and David Michael were born to this union. Susie loved her two children with all her heart. Later in life, Susie married Jerry Morris in 1972. Jerry died after a fifteen year marriage.
Susie Anita work for Oakwood Health Care Center for over thirty years. She began her career as a Nurse Aid and was promoted to Ward Secretary followed by Department Manager where she facilitated healthcare training and completed the scheduling of communication center employees. Her hobbies were ceramics and gardening, but what she enjoyed the most was her dogs: Pom-Pom, Muffin, Snoopy, Princess, Drummer, Terra, Shanny and her absolute favorite Shakazula "Shaka".
Susie was active member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in Westland, Michigan under Reverend W.W. Davis from 1984-1995. She served on the Usher Board and enjoyed studying her Bible. She also studied at the Sharon Seventh Adventist Church in Inkster, Michigan under Reverend Reed.
Susie departed this life on April 13, 2022.
