Obituary

Sharon Bernice McQueen, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on august 17, 2023, in Livonia, Michigan. Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on April 9, 1956 to the late Edmond and Evelyn Wesley, Sharon was a beacon of love, generosity, and humor, cherished by all who knew her. 

Sharon was a proud alumnus of Inkster Public Schools, where she graduated from Inkster High School in 1974. Her dedication to learning and a strong work ethic was evident in her career. For 33 years, she was a pillar of the community, working diligently at Garden City Hospital. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her dedication to her family and friends. 

Sharon was united in holy matrimony to Walter L. McQueen Sr. and welcomed two sons. 

Known for her fun-loving nature, Sharon had a knack for making people laugh. Her generous spirit was infectious and she had an unique ability to make those around her feel loved and appreciated. Her interests were simple, but deeply meaningful. She enjoyed watching TV, listening to music, and most importantly, spending time with her family. The highlight of her day was always Facetiming her beloved grandchildren, whose lives she greatly influenced with her kindness and love. 

Sharon life's was a testament to her spirit. Despite the challenges life presented, she faced them with courage, grace, and a sense of humor. Her resilience, coupled with her loving and generous nature, made her an inspiration to all. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her sons and family. 

Sharon's departure has left a void that can never be filled. However, the memoires of her laughter, love and generosity will forever remain in our hearts. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the importance of family, the joy of laughter, and the beauty if a life well-lived.

In celebrating Sharon Bernice McQueen, we remember not just the end of her earthly journey, but the remarkable journey that was her life. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to live through the lives of all those she touched. She was a loving sister to her siblings, the late Minnie Wesley, Freddie Haliburton, and Robert Wesley. Her family was her world, and she took immense joy in their successes and achievements.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Walter Jr. and Cory McQueen, daughter-in-law, Kaylah, three grandchildren: Amiyah, Cory Jr., and Kai. Two brothers; Edmond, Brian (Delahi), two sisters, Joanne (Reginald), Sandra (Wallace), Sharon also leaves 21 nieces and nephews, 22 great-nieces and nephews, 14 great great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins. Sharon will greatly be missed by all her friends at American House and wo special friends, Odessia and Pat.
