Robert Leroy Wesley was born on September 15, 1945, in Inkster, Michigan as the fourth of eight children to the late Edmond and Evelyn Wesley. Robert affectionately known as "Robbie" lived a full and vibrant life marked by his generous heart, adventurous spirit and infectious sense of humor.
Robert received his academic education in Inkster Public School System. It was there that he met his high school sweetheart, Myra, who became his first wife. From this union they produced four daughters: Tonya, Denise, Sherry, and Kena before going their separate ways.
Robert later shared a special love with Judy Williams, and they welcomed two more daughters, Latrina and Tanisha.
Lastly, Robert united in holy matrimony with Marjorie Smith and welcomed a son, Robert Jr. (Mike) from this union, and they both proceeded him in death. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, from his dedication as a brother, father, uncle to his role as a pillar of support within his family.
Our beloved Robert was baptized and accepted Jesus Chris as his savior at an early age and joined First Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Goode. He later moved his membership to New Birth Baptist under the leadership of Reverend Stephens.
Robert's work history was as diverse and dynamic as he was. He served his community proudly as a bus driver a SMART (formerly Semta0 for 30 years, a role that allowed him to connect with countless individuals and make significant impact on their lives. His dedication to his work was only surpassed by his commitment to his family and community.
In his free time, Robert could often be found at the racetrack, a place that brought him immense joy and excitement. He was also an avid sports fan, always ready to cheer on his favorite teams with contagious enthusiasm. His passion for grilling was a hobby that allowed him to combine his love for food with is love for spending quality time with his family.
Robbie will forever be known for his generous heart, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His adventurous nature led him to seek out new experiences and challenges, always with a smile on his face and jokes on his lips. His sense of humor was infectious and he had an unique ability to light up any room with his laughter and positivity. He was a sharp dresser and displayed an amazing sense of style. In remembering Robert, we honor a man who lived his life to the fullest, who loved deeply and who made the world a brighter place with his presence. His memory will forever be a beacon of love, joy, and generosity to all who know him. May his spirit continue to inspire us to live our lives with courage, kindness, and a sense of humor.
Robert's daughters Sherry, Tanisha, and Mykeeya; sisters Freddie Mae and Minnie Jean; and son-in-law, Marquis all proceeded him in death.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Tonya (Darryl), Denise, Kena, Donnell, Latrina (Chris), Marvin (Stephanie), and Marcus (Sheleena); 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Ashton (Shannon), Amber, Ambrose, Antonie, Ambree, Kyle, Amyra, Chantel, and Chelsea, and additional 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, two brothers Edmond Jr. and Brian (Delahi), three sisters, Joanne (Reginald), Sandra (Wallace), and Sharon. He also leaves a host of beautiful nieces, nephews, and cousins, and incredible family friends.
