Renee Bohannon Obituary

Renee Denise Bohannon was born on January 2, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the oldest child of Ben and Sylvia Bohannon. Renee started working at a young age. she performed administrative duties at Cherry Hill High School and DEA Electronics. She worked in manufacturing for Borg Warner Automotive and Johnson Controls where she retired in 2015. She also served for ten years as a project manager at the YWCA. In this capacity she worked with teenage mothers to improve their parenting skills, provided GED preparation support and other projects to aid her community to live better lives. Renee gave to her community. whether it was starting a lunch program for the children in the neighborhood or helping someone celebrate a special occasion at the building, she was always there. Her creativity knew no bounds. She could see what others could not-from painting windows in her kitchen to look like stain glass and decorating the building for many events for friends and family. She had a big heart and a giving nature and was always willing to help others. Her tough love was one indication of her commitment to them. Renee enjoyed being outdoors and always found time to go to metro parks and have fun with her family. she especially enjoyed her times at Inkster Park. Renee was the proud mother of four children, Tyrone Bohannon, Carmen Seaton (Mitchell Sr.), Lynall Bohannon, and Meshia Commander. She was married to Hassan Hammoud. He was a very giving and loving partner in support of Renee and her children. Renee was the sibling of 12 sisters and brothers; Debra Holloway, Benjamin Bohannon (deceased), Audra Bohannon, (Anthony), Ben Bohannon Jr., Rodney Bohannon Sr. (Gabrielle), DeShawn Bohannon (Tiffany), Tara Rogers (Jermaine Sr.) and Jamual Bohannon. Renee was preceded in death by her parents and son, Lynall Bohannon. Renee departed this life peacefully with her children by her side on December 31, 2019. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her 3 children, Tyrone Bohannon, Carmen Seaton and Meshia Commander, 8 grandchildren; Rachia Bohannon, Tristan Allen, Mitchell Seaton Jr., Kamron Seaton, Christian Mudry (Rita), Dezaray Bohannon, Tyran Bohannon and Tyler Craig and 3 great grandchildren, Harmoni Williams, Kingston Cook and Nasir Cook. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Renee lived a full life and lived it unapologetically.
