Raleigh Davis Obituary
Raleigh Tillman Davis was born on July 23, 1933 in Winona, West Virginia to the late William and Valeria Davis. He was one of ten children. "Jack" as everyone knew him graduated from Simmons High School in Montgomery, West Virginia.
After high school Jack joined the US Marines/Navy where he served four years as an Army Medic. After leaving the service he moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he went to a party one night and met the love of his life, Frances Wilson. They fell in love and were married in March 1960.
Jack was employed with Detroit Diesel for over 30 years. While still working at Detroit Diesel, Jack went to back to school to receive his two (2) year Nursing Degree from Henry Ford Community College.
Jack joined Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in 1972 where he was baptized. He served on the Deacon Board and sang with both the Mass and Men's Choir until he became ill.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Frances Davis; daughter Vermell (Craig) Tindle; sons Allen (Lori) Davis, and Ron Rush; five grandchildren, Craig Jr., Ricky, Trynisha (Marlon), Triquita (Joshua), Floyd, and Devon; two godchildren, Scott and Courtney, twenty great-grandchildren, five brothers whom preceded him in death, Willie (Rebecca also deceased), James (Margaret also deceased), Alfonso (Alfreda), John (Vivian), and Irvin; one surviving brother, CW (Cynthia) Davis; three sisters, Geraldine (who preceded him in death), Anita Mosley and Fay Brusley and a host of family and friends.
