Paulette Shaw Obituary
Paulette Jefferson Shaw (lovingly known as Pooley) was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 28, 1947. She was the daughter of Mattie Ivory Jones and Paul Jefferson, both preceded her in death. She had a step-brother, Kenneth Allen, who also preceded her in death. She was married to Grady Shaw in 1969 at the age of 22. He also preceded her in death.
Paulette was raised in Romulus, Michigan and graduated from Robichaud High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan in 1966. She attended Michigan State University's certificate program for food and nutrition in 1982.
She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at any early age and was a member of God's City of Refuge Church.
Paulette lived in Adams Senior Apartments in Westland where she loved to spend time at the clubhouse doing 500 to 1000 piece puzzles so much so that her neighbors nicknamed her "Puzzle Lady". She also loved to sew, cook, play solitaire on her computer, watch western and mystery movies.
She retire in 2003 from the Food Service Industry at the Hydromatics Plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She loved to recreate the recipes at home that were used at work. She used to say that the people loved her pancakes. Others may remember her as one of the Lunch Mothers that watched over the children at recess period at Mokersky Elementary School.
Paulette was loved by all for her quiet spirit, kindness, generosity and hospitality. She was that "other" mother to everyone.
Paulette leaves to cherish her memories: Children- Valerie Jefferson, Tonia Shaw, and Desmond Shaw,; Grandchildren--SaToya Burks, Dominque Tensley, Samone Tensley, Ryant PArker, and Dezara Shaw; great-grandchildren-Jacques Burke, Davarious Dempsey, Enrico Tensley and Aubrey Terry; Great Great grandchild- Kaden Cox; Cousins- Sandra Barlow (From California), DeAnna Wainwright (From Southfield, MI), and Boman Coleman (from California) and a host of other relatives, friends, and her church family.
