Novella Nelson Obituary
Novella Nelson Born July 21,1936 in Hamtramck, MI Novella Nelson to James C. Burleigh, Sr. and Mattie Perlow-Burleigh. To this union were born nine children including Novella. Her mother and siblings lived in Black Bottom, Detroit until her father decided to relocate to Romulus, MI when she was 14 years of age where she continued her education in Romulus,MI.
Sometimes after her family moved to Romulus, Novella met William Nis Nelson, Sr. who she later married March 12,1955. To this union nine children born. They later moved to Inkster, MI and purchased a home in Inkster where they resided with their children and until Novella went home to be with the Lord.
During this time she and her husband went on to attend and serve at Missionary Baptist Church with their children under the guidance Everend A.B. Searcy, of where she received the full baptism of the Holy Spirit. She sangin the choir, sreved as Missionary and an Usher. After 25 years of marriage, in December of 1979, her husband William Nis Nelson, Sr. preceded her in death. Her youngest sone son: LaJuan Alex Nelson and grandson, Keifor Johnson also preceded Novella in death.
She later went on to serve Amity Baptist Church under Reverend Johnson. After his death,later she joined New Birth Baptist Church in the covering of Reverend Dr. Joseph A.
