Mary Ford Obituary

Mary Alice Ford, a loving and generous soul, WAS CALLED HOME TO BE WITH THE Lord on May 30, 2023. Born on January16, 1945 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Mary was a beacon of faith and love to all who knew her. Mary passed away peacefully in Wayne, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity and unwavering faith.

Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Willie Ben and Estella Rodgers. She was raised in a loving home and educated in the Inkster Public Schools System. Mary's strong foundation in faith and family values were evident in her unwavering commitment to her loved ones and her community.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Reverend Clifford Ford and a dedicated mother to her sons, Luther (Glinda) Ford and Anthony (Tinetta) Ford.

She was a grandmother to Crystal Underwood, Shakira Ford, Kavana Ford and William Ford Jr. Mary was also a loving sister to Reather Butler, who preceded her in death, and Mary Beatrice McClain. Her family will forever cherish the memories and moments they shared with her. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, a host of family and friends.

As along-time employee of Wayne County, she spent her career working timelessly to improve the lives of those around her. Mary's dedication to her work and passion for helping others did not go unnoticed.

Mary's dedication to her community was exemplified in her 30 plus years of membership at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. She served as the Mother of the Church, a member if the choir, and participated in various other auxiliaries. Her faith-filled life was a testament of her unwavering belief in the power of the Lord. As the Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Mary's life was a living embodiment of these words.

Her interests included crocheting, reading, watching tv, and spending time with her loved ones. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and cherished the moments spent with her family and friends. Her kind and loving nature touched lives of many and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Mary's life was a shining example of love and faith in action. She was known for her warm heart and generous spirit and her unwavering faith in GOD. Mary's faith was the cornerstone of her life and she never hesitated to share it with others.

Her friends and family often sought her counsel knowing that her words were guided by the Holy Spirit--and her heart was full of love. Mary's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
