Martel Ellis Obituary

We remember and celebrate the life of Martel "Classic" Ellis, a loving, funny, and adventurous man who made an indelible impact on everyone he encountered. Born on July 21, 1987 in Wayne, Michigan, Classic left us all too soon on October 14, 2023, in Romulus, Michigan.

Classic was a proud graduate from his General Education Diploma (GED) programs, exhibiting the determination and resilience that defined his character. His industrious tendencies carried over to his work as an Assembler where he put in great effort and took immense pride. But Classic was not simply a man of work. He was a man full of passion and dynamic interests that enriched his life greatly.

Classic found his rhythm and freedom in the art of music. If he wasn't spotted working, there was a good chance you would find him engaged in his love of rapping. The world was his stage, but this real treasure was his family. With an infectious spirit and jovial humor, Classic made family gatherings a memorable event.

An adventurer at heart, Classic had an affinity for karate movies and cars. He enjoyed playing fighting games, adding that spice of competition and thrill into his life. His love for dogs was evident in the gentle manner he cared for them and the joy they brought him.

Classic leaves behind a loving family who cherished their time with him: Mother: Sophia, Grandparents: Edward and Pearl, his sons: Martel Jr. and Elijah; brothers: D'Andre and Willie, sisters: Diojanae and De'ja, and a host of nephews and nieces. He touched each one of their lives with his warmth and kindness. A grandson, a son, a father, a brother, and a friend; Classic was a beacon of love in their lives and his absence leaves a void that words cannot sum up.

Classic was known for his vivacious laughter and his timeless wisdom. He truly embodied the quote by Robert Louis Stevenson, "Make the most of the best and least of the worst." Throughout his life, he faced whatever challenges came his way with unwavering positivity and an infectious laugh.

He had a way of turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. His adventurous spirit kept everyone on their toes, creating stories that will be shared and cherished to keep his memory alive. Funny as he was loving, Classic's sense of humor was a refreshing train in the swelter of life. His jokes and laughter filled every room he occupied and his spirit will continue to live on in these endearing memories.

In his passing, we find solace in the love and memories he left behind. His sense of family, fun, and adventure turned the ordinary into extraordinary, the mundane into the exciting. We mourn his loss, but we also celebrate the joy and laughter he brought into our lives.

Remembering him as a loving, funny, and adventurous soul, Martel "Classic" Ellis with his unique liveliness, has etched beautiful memories in our hearts. His spirit lives on in the passion of his sons and the unity of his family, his laughter echoes in our ears and the love he spreads remains a beacon of comfort in our hearts. Goodnight, Classic, until we meet again.
