Malcolm Goldston Obituary

Malcolm Ross Goldston was born on May 26, 1931, in Inkster, Michigan to the union of the late Benjamin and Vera Mae Goldston.  Malcolm attended school in Newaygo County and Inkster Public Schools.

Malcolm was a dedicated county employee with a strong work ethic throughout his career.  He worked for Eloise Psychiatric Hospital and the Wayne County jail.  After many years of service, he retired as a county employee.

Malcolm’s favorite hobby was fishing.  He enjoyed fishing with his younger brother Boynton and bringing fish back to the family to cook for dinner.  In addition, he loved football and basketball and always rooted for the Lions and the Pistons.  He had a great sense of humor.  On February 27, 1951, he was inducted into the US Army. He served during the Korean Conflict.  He was honorably discharged on March 12, 1953.

Malcolm transitioned home on Sunday, December 31, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his siblings Yvonne, Benjamin, Manford, Darlene, Thomas, and Ronald.  He leaves to cherish his memories: son Eric Goldston (Geneva) of Inkster, Michigan; grandchildren Edward Withers (Fran), Erica Goldston, Malcolm R. Goldston II (De’Adra), Eric Goldston (Markeisha); great-grandchildren Nichole Martin, Maiya O’Neal (Dallas), Eric Gibson, Joshua Withers, Kieara Goldston, David Taylor and Mackenzie Goldston; great-great grandchild Dallas O’Neal; and brother Boynton Leroy (Demaris) Goldston of Kentucky.  Malcolm will be missed by his significant other and life partner Cheryl Bryson.  Through Cheryl, he will be sadly missed by extended family Kavon Waston, Cordell Bryson, Marquetta Bryson, Cody Bryson, and Korey Smith.  Malcolm was loved by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
