In humble reverence, we gather to remember the life of Larry Donall Cole, a man who embodied the virtues of humility, gratitude, and respect for all of creation. On December 12, 2023, Larry peacefully passed away in Dearborn, MI, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion.
Born on September 25, 1954, in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His words of wisdom, his heart of gold, and his ability to embrace everyone with open arms were a testament to his unwavering faith and his deep love for his family and community.
Larry's life was a living testament to the power of family bonds. He cherished the sacred union he shared with his beloved wife, Rachel Cole, whom he married on December 29th, 1973. Their commitment to one another was a shinning example of the enduring love and devotion that can be found within the scared bonds of matrimony.
Larry leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Larry M. Cole, daughters: Kristy Franklin (De'Andre), Kimberly Wilson, and Goddaughter: Kianta Harris,. Larry's love extended to his cherished grandchildren: Thad, Daisy, De'quante, Chris, Mekayla, Montez, Max, Nick, Kwajalyn, and Candace. Additionally, he was blessed with five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who will carry his spirit and love in their hearts. He was also survived by his sister Shirley Claiborne and his brother Tony Cole.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Marshall Lee Grant Cole, his mother Annie Cole, and his brother Marshall E. Cole. In the spirit of gratitude, Larry's life was dedicated to his faith and service to Beulah Baptist Church, where he humbly served as a Deacon. His unwavering commitment to his spiritual journey and his deep-rooted connection to his church community were sources of strength and solace throughout his life. Larry found solace in the teaching of his faith, cherishing the beauty of creation and the importance of extending love and compassion to all.
Beyond his spiritual pursuits, Larry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Fishing, embarking on road trips and treasuring precious moments with his family were among his cherished hobbies. These activities allowed him to appreciate the wonders of the world, the serenity of nature and the joy that comes from shared experiences with loved ones.
Larry was a beacon of light in his community and a true family man. He believed in the importance of family and always opened his doors to his neighbors, youth in the community, people of the church, and anyone else who needed his southern hospitality and fatherly love. Larry's warm personality and ability to make everyone feel welcome will be deeply missed.
As we bid farewell to Larry Donal Cole, we carry his spirit of humbleness, gratitude, and respect for all of creation within our hearts. He unwavering faith. love for family and commitment to his community will forever inspire us to live lives filled with compassion, kindness, and devotion.
