Joycelyn Butler Obituary
On July 27, 1965, Joycelyn Butler was born to the late David I. Butler, Sr. and Adrene Butler. Joycelyn accepted Christ in her life at an early age and continued to worship until she joined Him on November 19, 2017.
Joycelyn was the youngest girl of her eight siblings, two sisters, Venessa and Diane; and six brothers, Aaron (LaDon), Ed and Dwight; and three brothers tht
preceded her in death, David Jr., Paul and Brian.
Joycelyn, who most knew as Ya-Ya, graduated from Inkster High school in 1983. In 1984, while working at Leisure Village Nursing Center, she met the love of her life, David Mathews. The two would later welcome eight children within their thirty three year relationship, Makieda, Lawrence, Nancy, Norman, Deon, DeMarie, DeMarco and Daznion.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren; Jabril, Kamari, Jordan, Bailey, Kamiya, DeMarco Jr., Maddison and new grandbaby on the way who she wouldn't get a chance to meet.
Before moving to Nashville, Tennessee for a new start, she enjoyed working at rehabilitation centers as a counselor and helping and caring for others. She has touched so many hearts and will truly be missed by all.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her only niece, Oneeka, two nephews, Theordore (Tee) and Mosiac and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
