Joe Pearson Obituary

Joe Nather Pearson was born to Narvelus and Alice Pearson in Kellyton, Alabama on July 19, 1938. He was the seventh of eleven children. Joe accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age.

Joe graduated from Inkster High School in 1957 and attended trade school. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 where he served for three years, receiving honors as a Paratrooper, and was honorably discharged. During his service, he also trained as a light weapons Infantryman earning an expert badge in rifles as well as excelling in parachutes.

As a young man, Joe married Joann Donaldson and this union produced two beautiful daughters Lizbeth Ann and Alisha Ann.

He later joined Holy Matrimony on July 31, 1993, to Alberta Hughes, they were married 30 years until his passing.

Joe retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service.

Joe was also known for his carpentry work where he created custom bars, kitchens, and bathrooms.

Joe's true loves were bowling and traveling. Joe and Alberta traveled all over the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada.

Oftentimes joined by family and friends. Joe enjoyed entertaining his family and friends at his annual New Year's Eve parties.

Joe, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend transitioned on February 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Narvelus and Alice, his siblings Henry, Annie, Robert, Willie, Minnie, Thomas, and Inez, and his eldest daughter Lizbeth.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 30 years Alberta, his children Alisha Jamison, Lesa Hughes, Juan Hughes (Shona), and Carl Hudgins. Sisters Bonnie Blount and Mattie White. Sisters-In-Love Mildred Templeton, Michelle Strickland, and Carolyn Pearson; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a special friend Elnora Ford, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances.
