Janet Lannette Williams was born on March 12, 1958 to Rev. Samuel L. and Ruth Jane Williams in Columbus, Ohio.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. William R. Haney where our father the late Samuel L. Williams was Associated Minister. Janet continued worshipping Jesus Christ down through the years and rededicated her membership in 2016 at Oasis Interantional Church in Eastpointe, MI, under the leadership of the late Apostle Gerald A. Smith.
She graduated from Inkster High School in June 1976. Janet attended Clearly College in Ypsilanti, Michigan where she received her Associate's Degree on Business Administration in the fall of 1979 and her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management in the fall of 1981. She joined AAA Auto Club in 1979 where she worked for 20 years employed as a Travel Representative in January 1999 working with high profile clients. She retired from United Airlines in January 2016.here as an employee of United Airlines, she was given the award of Millionaires Club for making United Airlines over $1,000,000.00 in revenue multiple times.
Her hobbies were listening to Gospel music, watching spiritual programs, watching the cooking network, watching the soap opera; The Young and Restless, and Judge Judy.
Janet made her transition on Friday, August 25, 2023 at our home in Westland, MI. She was preceded in death by our parents, Rev. Samuel L. Ruth Jane Williams, brother Sylvester L. Williams Sr., two nephews Sylvester L. Williams and Andrew Mckenzie Turner.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Bradley Shawn Smith (Amie0, sister Gertrude E. Wilson (Rev. James), half-brother Sammie L. Williams (Bessie Mae), half-sister Bobby Jean Miller, grandson Shawn James Smith and another precious baby to be born late October/November of this year and a host of cousins and friends.
