Betty Leverett Obituary

Betty Julia Leverett was born May 27, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the seventh child of eight born to the union of the late Edith and Lafyette Allen, Sr. Betty completed her high school education at Western High School in 1952 and attended Cleary College in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Shortly after, Betty met Paul Leverett Sr. and united in holy matrimony in 1957. To their union, two children were born; Paul Leverett Jr. and Terrance Oliver Leverett.

Betty worked hard in family owned grocery store as the lead bookkeepper located in both Inkster and Ypsilanti Michigan. Later, as the family business grew, she became the book-keeper for Allen's laundry mat, boutique and car wash. Betty was always involved in the community, a humble soul who rarely talked about her work related to her accomplishment, and responsible for hiring many young who under her guidance became productive in the community and their life goals. Later, with her book-keeping experience, Betty became the book-keeper for her immediate family own business, Car Care Center in Detroit, Michigan.

Early in life Berry was an avid bowler, as most of her family including her brother who is in the 1994 Bowler Hall of Fame, as well as horseback riding, boating and traveling. She always enjoyed fishing, playing cards, shopping for bonuses, an excellent cook, and was very keen on fashion. Betty loved being with and celebrating her family and life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Betty believed in Jesus Christ and at an early age she loved and served Him with all of her heart. Betty severed passionately and was called to the ministry of music where she sang in the choir for many years. Betty was awesome Steward of God! She prayed through every situation good and bad. An awesome Prayer Warrior and those who knew her knew she was who was willing to fight the devil.
