Beatrice Stubbs, affectionately called Bea, was born June 14, 1951, to the union of Robert & Mary Stubbs. in Inkster, Michigan. She was the ninth child out of thirteen. Beatrice was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She enjoyed being around family, especially her grandchildren. She raised two boys as a single parent and many of their friends, as well as nieces and nephews, call her mom due to her loving heart.
Bea graduated from Inkster High School in 1969 and pursued a career as a paraprofessional in the Inkster school system. At age 18 she became a teacher's aide and shared her love with every child that crossed her path. She started her career at Woodson Elementary School then a few years later she worked at Carver Elementary School assisting wherever the need arose. This fostered a fond love from the students as she grew with them and watched them graduate high school. It wasn’t long when she began her permanent placement at Inkster High School. Her skills with handling students and being a diligent worker allowed her to fill many positions. There isn’t a student that didn’t fall in love with her care, understanding and patience. She was like a mother to many students. Ending a forty-one career of putting smiles on people's faces she happily retired in 2010.
Beatrice accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at a young age. She remained a member of Amity Baptist Missionary Church in Inkster until the Lord called her home. Over the years, she served in the Welcome Ministry, Youth Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Mission Circle, Choir, and made others feel special with her warm smile.
As the sun rose on the early morning of July 11, 2023, Beatrice Stubbs accepted the call of the Lord. She truly fought a good fight of faith and will always be remembered as a woman of infinite kindness and a giver of her time.
Left to celebrate Bea’s precious and loving memory are her two children, LaVangie Stubbs and Steven (Donica) Stubbs: grandchildren, Monet McCroan, Stefon Stubbs, and Zorah Stubbs; god-child: Daniel Townsend; siblings, Roosevelt (Shirley) Stubbs, George (Naomi) Stubbs, AlChristopher Stubbs, and Ether White; and wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and several special friends.
