Arnett Chisholm Obituary

Mr. Arnette Benjamin Chisholm was born on March 11, 1929 in Brooks County Georgia to the late Joe and Lilly Chisholm of Quitman, Georgia. He was one of six siblings, five of which preceded him in death.

Arnett was a product of the Brooks County School System. He joined the United States Armed Forces in 1952, a Korean War Veteran, honorably discharged.

On January 2,1959, Arnett marred Miss Anne Corker, a loyal and loving wife of 30 years who preceded him in death on October 26,1989.

Arnett was an employee of the United States Postal Service for over 30 years where he held mail carrier and supervisor positions.

Arnett was known to have a kind heart and a generous spirit. He one delivered aid to a family an his mail route who lost everything 3 days before Christmas due to a fire.

He was an American Legion worker for over 30 years and was the Commander of the Tom Phillips Post #184 for many years. He was also a NAACP Lifetime Member.

Arnett was a faithful member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church for more than 50 years where he wa a Junior Warden and Chief Usher.

His charismatic personality and smile greeted everyone as they entered the sanctuary.

On October 22, 1998, his son Arnett Benjamin Chisholm Jr. was born.

He was the Best Dad Ever! He was so proud to be a father. He was there for his son throughout every milestone.

Arnett Benjamin Chisholm departed this life on Thursday, August 11,2022.

He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory and legacy, his beloved son, Arnett Benjamin Chisholm Jr., loving nephew Joseph (Jake) Chisholm (Marjorie), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
