Antwan Whitlow Obituary

Antwan Tremayne Whitlow was born on October 8, 1973 to Joshua Taylor and Jacqueline Ann Whitlow (both of whom preceded him in death) in Wayne, Michigan. he was reared by his grandparents, Willie Mae Whitlow and the late Woodrow Sr. He was also preceded in death by his uncle William O'Neal.

Antwan confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Holy City Missionary Baptist Church in Inkster, Michigan under the leadership of Reverend Walter A. Steen. He attended Inkster Public Schools and graduated in 1991. He was later employed into the Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program at Henry Ford Community College, where he excelled until he could no longer attend.

Antwan experienced another level of unconditional love when he welcomed his children, Ashante, Shaywan, and Alexis to the world. He truly enjoyed being a father. Then, on January 6, 2018, his family wad completed when he joined with Trina Harris in Holy Matrimony, and accepted her daughter, Ticora, as his own.

Antwan enjoyed hosting parties and was so hospitable that it was hard to be around him and not have a good time. He was truly the life of the party and would spontaneously bust a move, even though he knew he couldn't dance! He turned many frowns to smiles, as he was an avid practical joker. He was also a movie buff and collected artillery.

Even in his toughest moments, Antwan remained positive. He will be remembered most for the love he showed to others and for being a great example of how to live each moment to the fullest. Though his time was brief, his impact and memories will last a lifetime. He will truly be missed.

Antwan transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, June 23, 2018. He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Trina; four children, Ashante Wayde, Shaywan Whitlow, Alexis Whitlow, and Ticora Harris; his grandmother, Willie Mae Whitlow; three siblings Mia Whiltow, Charles "CJ" (Lauren) Courtney, and Cynfanea Parnell; his father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Katrina Sampson; two brothers-in-law, David Sampson and Cornell (Kisha) Sampson; his uncle, Dr. Woodrow (Michelle) Whitlow Jr., two aunts, Linda (Fred) Donald and Pauline (Leroy) Murray; seven special cousins, Arshrainn O'Neal-Cole, Dr. Natalie Johnson, Mary Whitlow, Albert White Jr., DeAndrew Fizer, Billy Fisher and Maurice Beckham and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
