Annie Mae Clayborn-Gooden was born April 18, 1945 in Bryonville, Georgia to the late William Smith Sr. and Elizabeth Smith.
Shortly after birth she came to Detroit, Michigan in 1945 with her mom. Annie loved spending time with her family and friends. It wasn't a family outing she wasn't at having a good time singing and dancing. Annie loved shopping, going to the casino, and crossing the border to Ontario, Canada to plat bingo. Her passion was playing bingo and was a professional bingo player for ten years.
Annie had a very BLUNT personality. She would say how she felt and didn't care what nobody thought. There was no on who was exempt from her powerful words lol. Annie was known for infectious smile and her kind & compassionate spirit.
Preceded her in death her husbands: John Bell Sr, Ellis (Richard) Clayborn, and Curtis (Curt) Gooden, her sisters; Joanne, Mattie, Linda, Queen (Patsy), and Dot, her brothers: Arthur, Wiliam, Dennis, and Darry (Buckwheat), and her one and only beloved daughter Liz Bell who she loved dearly.
She leaves to celebrate her homegoing; her sons: Jerome C. Bell, John C. Bell, III (Johnny), Curtis L. Bell (Anita), Louis (Louie) Calyborn, her half-brother Robert Lee, and brother-in-law Joe Mason. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, God-son Dequan, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
