While obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Detroit Mercy, she gave birth to her second child in 1990 and then later graduated in 1994.
After earning her degree, she moved on to begin her career with the County of Wayne, where she was gainfully employed for over 26 years as a supervisor in the Management and Budgeting Department. Alicia finished her career in September 2021 as the Chief of Finance for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
