Alfonso Middlebrooks Obituary
On October 11, 1947, Alfonso Middlebrooks was born in Detroit, MIchigan to Ella Mae Harrington and Robert Middlebrooks. Alfonso was the oldest of 3 children and attended Dearborn Heights school where he graduated from Robichaud High School and excelled in basketball skills. Al's professional career included working at Detroit Metro Airport and Chrysler. After 13 years at Chrysler, he took his talents to Atlanta to work as a concierge in a large hotel for 8 years. He then cam back to Michigan to help care for his late Aunt Gwen.
Alfonso had a giving heart and in recent years, you could find him giving his friends and neighbors rides to and from the store. He loved his snacks of plain potato chips, sweet tea, Pepsi, and ice cream. Most mornings he found peace sitting quietly watching the news and drinking coffee.
In 2001, al attended Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He is preceded in death by his mother Ella Mae and his father Robert Middlebrooks. Al leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Amena Myles, grandson Blake, sister Alberta Williams, brother Herman Williams Jr. and his fiancé Gwen Chapman.
