Wimley Franklin Reaves Jr. was the first of three children born to Wimley Franklin Reaves Sr. and Pauline Burton-Reaves in Casper, Wyoming on August 20, 1944. The family moved to Cleveland, Ohio when Frank was two years old. He was educated at John Adams High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Shortly, thereafter he left high school and joined the United States Army from 1962-1965.He grew up in St. Peters AME Zion Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He reconfirmed his life to Christ later at Middlebelt Baptist Church. He loved this church and his church family.Frank was married to Ollie Reaves and from this union they were blessed with four children; Deidre, Kito, Jocinda, and Vanessa. The family transitioned from Cleveland, Ohio to Inkster, Michigan in 1976 and he remained in Inkster for the next forty years.Frank appreciated good cuisine. He immensely enjoyed cooking and utilized his culinary skills by working at niche restaurants within the Detroit metropolitan area. He was a good listener and when he could help - he would.
A jovial and witty spirit, Frank enjoyed puzzles, card playing, cracking jokes, conversing, and laughing with people. He exuded humor and appreciated fellowship It was not unusual, to find him in his earlier years, playing the games Yahtzee, Monopoly and cards with his children and nephews. His children speak of the appreciation of his smile, laughter, caring, heart, and love for life, which stands as a significant part of his legacy. He returned to Cleveland, Ohio six months ago to be in the care of his daughters.Frank made his transition on March 19, 2017. Preceding him in death are his parent Wimley Reaves Sr. and Pauline and younger sister Judy. He leaves in his stead his loving and caring children; Deidre Reaves-Meade (Michael), Kito Reaves, Jocinda Reaves and Vanessa Reaves, seven grandchildren; Adriana Reaves, DeAndrea Reaves, Jeffery Reaves, Brandon Reaves, Sean Reaves and Jaylah Jackson, his loving sister Corliss Stephens (Walter) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
