    Willie Lee Luckey Jr.

    September 21, 1951 - May 7, 2022

    Willie Lee Luckey Jr. was born on September 21,1951 in Marion Alabama. His parents were Hattie B. Lucky and Willie Lee Lucky Sr., they both preceded him in death. Willie Lee Luckey was the eldest of nine siblings, five brothers and three sisters: Annie Laney (Jospeh), the late Minnie Ross (Thomas), Dorothy Lucky, the late Leon Lucky, Nathaniel Lucky (Teresa), Alger Lucky (Layla), Illinois Jordan Lucky and Roy Lucky. Willie was educated through the Detroit Public School System, and graduated from Martin Luther King High School. Willie accepted Christ and was baptized at Lighthouse Cathedral under the late Pastor Ollie Taylor. Willie worked at Ford Motor Company for thirty years, and retired in 2003. He loved and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also had a love for music. He played many instruments like saxophone, harmonica and drums. He also enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to play. Willie was active throughout his life and enjoyed baseball, basketball, and swimming. He loved visiting family in Ypsilanti, Alabama, and Inkster. They called him swing low for his love for dancing. Willie Luckey married Wilene Lucky who preceded him in death. He leaves behind eight children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins.
