Vanessa J. Pope was born on November 13, 1969 in Eloise, Michigan to the parents of Ruby Kay and Lemar Murphy Jr. Vanessa accepted Christ at an early age at Fair Haven Baptist Church of Westland. Vanessa graduated from Wayne Memorial High School. After high school Vanessa continued her education at the Skill Center in Livonia, Michigan and warned her certificate in a broad number of skilled trades. Vanessa was employed with Burger King. Her favorite sport was basketball, she loved playing UNO and was a part of Special Olympics. Vanessa enjoyed her music, especially Usher (her man) and Whitney Houston. She loved baby-sitting her nieces and nephews. She really enjoyed dancing and most of the time was the life of the party.

Vanessa (while special to us) was never treated any different than her siblings, as such she defeated the odds by accomplishing what Vanessa wanted to accomplish. For those who knew her- that was a WHOLE lot. Her outgoing personality and energetic spirit made an impact on everyone she touched.

Vanessa was a fighter and till the end she did just that! OUR ANGEL WARRIOR!

Vanessa departed this life on October 16, 2018 at the age of 48 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by : Gloria and William E. Jackson Sr. (grandparents), Ruby Conway (Big Momma), Annette Magee (aunt), William E. Jackson Jr. (uncle), and Timothy Jackson (cousin). Vanessa leaves to cherish her memories: Parents Ruby Kay and Lemar Murphy Jr.; siblings; Angela (TJ), La'Kecia, "Bingo", Ge'Angelo (Dylan), Harold "Duna", Gregory, Rita and a host of nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her cousins near and far.

Special acknowledgement to Aunt Janetha Fields-Beattie and Uncle Clifford Magee for always being there throughout her life.
