Ms. Theasus Whaley was born to the late Alex and Jean Whaley in Albany, GA., November 22nd, 1941.
Theasus was the first born of six children. She leaves one sister, Mary Holmes. There are three sisters that proceeded her in death, Lula Johnson, Charlotte Kyles, Fleta Whaley and brother Alex Whaley Jr.
Theasus had eight children. Kenneth Whaley, Pamela Greer (Jerry Greer), Subrena Whaley, Kevin Whaley, Donald Whaley, Jeffrey Whaley, and nephew Karl Matthews. Two children preceded her in death Jackie and Ronald Whaley.
Her grandchildren includes Brent Lang, Kyeisha Evans, Santino Clark, Dawn Bowens, Jessica and Jeremiah Greer, Kevin and Kaymen Whaley, Carmeron and Keron Carter, and Alicia. Theasus has many great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Whaley family migrated to Detroit, MI after the sudden death of their father Alex. Immediately after the funeral the family gathered their few belongings and relocated with the assistance of her favorite cousins; the late Curtis and Francis Lewis.
Theasus completed her education in the Detroit School District. Theasus was the ultimate go getter. She worked as a nurse for 40 years, owned a night club named Club 82 for 10 years, ice cream truck, Avon Sales, Party Store and owned 5 AFC homes over the course of 30 years. Theasus was able to retire at the young age of 58 and continued to travel and cruise around the world.
Theasus was known for her fashion. You would never see her without her jewelry, nails, hair and make up done. She was best dressed every Sunday in a suit, with matching hat, shoes, and handbag. A true Icon and mother of Highland Park. Previous Events Family & Friends Visitation JUN 2.
