Terrell Vincent Douthet

Terrell Vincent Douthet passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the age of 62. Terrell was born to Jim and Beatrice Douthet on August 17, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan. He received an education in Detroit Public Schools with aspirations of becoming a mechanic. After years of education and training, Terrell began a career at Detroit Medical Center Hospital where he worked for 43 years until his retirement. While working at the hospital, Terrell married the love of his life, Renee Deering on August 20, 1982. The couple spent 38 yeas together and created a wonderful family.

During his lifetime, Terrell had many hobbies and adventures. As young entrepreneur, he created a family-owned landscaping company that is now operated by his sons. e loved cooking, volunteering and giving back to the community, watching sports, and spent many years on a bowling league, but most of all, Terrell loved racing and building cars and travelling throughout the U.S. to see different car shows. He loved Ford Motor Company and invested in building multiple Mustangs with his sons. Around his birthday, he enjoyed the tradition of going to Steak n Shake and watching the Woodward Dream Cruise. When the weather was cooler, Terrell also enjoyed slot car racing. Terrell's enthusiasm for cars, hard work, and devotion to helping others live on through his family.

Terrell was proceeded in death by his parents Jim and Beatrice Douthet and sisters Gloria Cunningham and Karen Gerbasi. His legacy will be remembered through his wife Renee Douthet; their two sons Terrell Douthet Jr. and Corey Douthet (Terri Marshall); grandson Tyler Douthet; sisters Sherry Pruitt (Calvin Pruitt) and Lynea Barnes (Darryl Barnes); brothers Henry Holmes and Larry Douthet (Cheri Hughley); brother and sister-in-laws including Charles and Ora Godwin; a host of nieces and nephews including Daryl, David, and Rhonda Lockhart (Jerome Lockhart), family and friends.
