Tendai Mumbiro Obituary
Tendai Barbara Mumbiro was born on September 24, 1977 at Bloomington Hospital in Indiana. Tendai was nicknamed Bubuchi by her brothers because of her big cheeks. Tendai brought us so much joy growing up, especially to her brothers who had longed for a little sister. She was the third child of four and the only girl. As a baby she was a sweetheart, she was not fussy and slept through the night. She grew to be a fun,intelligent and loving child full of energy and smiles.
Tendai started kindergarten in Evanston Illinois and went on to start first grade at Hillcrest Primary School in Mutare Zimbabwe. She then went to middle school in Ann Arbor Michigan, high school was at Aquinas High School in Southgate Michigan. After attending Marygrove, she worked at the college in the Admissions and Financial Aid Department, a job she really enjoyed. She loved working with the students. Tendai loved people and was very outgoing and very very talkative. Tendai would hijack a conversation or a phone conversation and talked giving no one room to respond. She loved talking to the extent that even in the hospital bed the brothers would look at each other and say " the girl can still talk". She will be missed at family events where she was always late but took over with jokes which she acted out with loud laughter and funny stories. Tendai was a very prayerful woman and a good preacher.
Tendai is survived by her two beloved children Tatiana and Isaiah whom she loved so much, her parents, two brothers Nhamo and Gwinyai, three sisters in law, three nephews, three nieces and a whole generation of family members in Zimbabwe. She will be missed so dearly, she was a joyful and loving person who always reminded the family about everyone's birthday. She would loudly announce hers very very early to make sure no one missed it.
It is going to be a very hard time for the family and friends who have to entrust her in the loving hands of God. We love you Tendai. Rest in peace.
