Solomon Kyser Obituary

SOLOMON H. KYSER was born on April 3rd, 1944 in Evergreen, Alabama to the late Hiram and Q Minnie L. Kyser.

He graduated from Conecuh County Training School. He went to serve the United States Army and earned an honorable discharge April 22, 1964 as a Private First Class E3 regular army MED.

Solomon relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where he met his loving wife Sarah Ivey and they married February 21, 1968. Later that year, they had their first child Michael A. Kyser and relocated to Detroit, Michigan soon after their second child, Stephanie J. Kyser, was born in 1969.

Solomon and his new family traveled to Alabama and Florida sometimes working two or three jobs to support his family. He brought his family back to Michigan for good when he was hired by General Motors. Sometimes he worked along with his brother Nathaniel "Kay" doing road construction. Many years later, he went to work for American Axle and he retired from there in 2009.

The meaning of Solomon's name is peace. Solomon used his wisdom to lead his family and was loved by everyone and never met a stranger. Solomon put his family first when making any decisions. Most importantly, he provided stability for his wife and family. Solomon never forgot where he came from. While he was able, he would visit his family by taking a trip down south yearly. Solomon loved sports, fishing, attending music festivals, being outdoors, and playing cards with friends and family. Solomon was also very sociable and loved his grandchildren. He participated in many of their activities by sharing his stories of his first granddaughter Mia, who was Solomon's baby. He also enjoyed his grandson little Michael, attending his football games encouraging him to play.

Solomon loved giving advice to his granddaughter Mya. He was also known as Poppy to the grandchildren. He could always make them laugh.

Solomon was a member of the International Masons and earned a Royal Arch degree. He faced his adversaries in life with courage. He dedicated his life to the Lord and joined Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. He was always singing to, for, and about the Lord.

Every challenge that Solomon faced; being poor, various health issues, or losing his wife Sarah in 2010, he always turned to the Lord for help and guidance. He didn't allow the issues he had to overcome to interfere with providing a good life for his family. He would often say "the Lord will make a way somehow. Pray to the Lord. Only He can make a way out of no way. Believe in prayer".

Solomon loved and shared with his family. He left this world on July 29, 2018 to be with his Lord. His wife Sarah of 42 years preceded him in death, along with his father and mother Hiram, Q. Minnie L. Kyser; brothers, Theodore Kyser, Thomas Booker, and Nathaniel Kay Kyser; sisters, Bobbie Jean Kyser and Joyce Ann Stallworth.
