Ruby Lee Beckham

Ruby (Wright) O'Neal Beckham, the second daughter of William Henry (deceased) and Elise Ann (Wright) O'Neal was born on March 28th, 1927 in Dublin, Georgia. She was educated in the Dublin School system. Ruby moved to Michigan in 1943 where she met and married Samuel Lee Beckham (deceased) in 1950. Ruby was married to "Sam" 'til death do them part in 1999 a marriage of 49 years with one daughter Constance Denise Beckham "Coni" whose birthday was the same month and date as her mother Ruby.

Ruby accepted Christ and began her spiritual life with Christ at Second Baptist Church and continued as a faithful member and usher at Cathedral of Faith Church for many years.

Ruby was a stay-at-home mom who did cleaning work at Dipsy Doodle Bar, for Lawyer Hartford for Mrs. Grimes and the United States Postal Service, Ruby prided herself in cleanliness it was said that she kept her house so clean that you could've eaten off of her floors. She was the one who definitely stood her ground. When it came to it Ruby always said what she meant, and meant what she said!!! However she still was a fun loving person with many jokes. When she was around everyone knew that fun and laughs were on their way. Everyone loved her and the love of her life was Coni and Coni's Children' Maurice, Hershanna (deceased) and her great-grandchildren; she loved to spoil them all.

Ruby was a very special Aunt to her nieces and nephews who all loved her so very dearly. She was especially fond of as well as godmother to her nephew Dr. Woodrow Whitlow who always remembered her on special days.

Ruby leaves behind to mourn the passing many beloved family members; daughter; Coni, Grandson; Maurice, Brother, Thomas (Fannie), Great grandchildren: Destiny, Dominique, and James Edward (boo-boo); nieces, Sharon Beckham, and Elaine Harris; her nephew Little Joe of Cincinnati, Ohio and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
