Ricardo Rivers Obituary
Ricardo M. Rovers was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 1, 195 to Roszetta Faustina and the late Sylvester Rivers. Rick as he was affectionately called, was the oldest of 7 siblings.
Rick was educated in the Detroit Public Schools System and attended Finney High School. At the early age of 20 Rick began his career with General Motors Warren Assembly Plant where he retired in 2012. Ricardo loved listening to jazz, shopping (especially for shoes) he loved to dress and coordinate his outfits, cooking, taking his grandkids to school and spending time with family.
Ricardo was a loving and free-spirited person. He enjoyed helping others, from feeding the homeless to assisting with cooking meals at church and other events. Rick was a fighter (he was stubborn:)) but a true fighter!
On Saturday October 24, 2020 at 4:44p, after fighting a lengthy illness, the Lord called for Ricardo to come home.
To mourn Ricardo's passing he leaves to cherish the love of his life of 32 years Irish Rivers; loving mother Roszetta Faustina; seven children- daughters; Raquel, Ebony (Eric), Rokiea, Promiss, Faith; sons: Ricardo II (Rico), Perrance (preceded him in death),; 13 grand children; E'Shawn, Najah, Aniya, Christopher (CJ), Deshawn Jr., Jernee, Perrion, Gabriel, Trevion, Endiah, Emmanuel, Paris, Paden; one-great grandson Karter, eight siblings- two sisters; Mona, Nina, four brothers- Rance, Steven, Brian, and Adelbert and two sisters-in-love Aretha, Olivia,. He also leaves to cherish in his memory several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins and friends. Preceding him in death is his grandmother and grandfather Caldonia Faustina and Robert Schultz.
