Pearlene Upshaw Obituary
Pearlene Upshaw was born November 5, 1939 in Cario, Illinois. She was born to the union of Chessie and Searcy McGee. The family moved to Romulus, Michigan in 1951 where she continued her education in the Romulus Public School System,
She later met and married Paul Bazelle. This union was blessed with two beautiful daughters.
Pearl would go without in order to help you. She was a very giving and kind person to anyone who was in need. Even helping to take care of her two great-nephews Rayshawn and Ricardo Fox. She worked thirty-four years for the University of Michigan Hospital as a supervisor before retiring in 1995. Her employees always said that she was like a mother to them as well as the children she helped to take care of at Meek Baylor Elementary School where she was known as Grandma Upshaw. Her supervisor's at the school said that she was sincere and compassionate with the students feelings and that she was dependable, trustworthy and an asset to her class.
Pearl will truly be missed by a lot of people. She had a smile that lit up the room no mater what she was going through.
Pearl departed this life on November 18, 202 at St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia, Michigan. Both parents, one brother, a sister and her youngest daughter preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband, Paul Bazelle, daughter, Daphne Jones; son-in-law, Kelvan Jones; two grandsons, Horace Baines, Jr., and Antoine Baines; one nephew, Clinton Butch Fox, III; two nieces, Ka Fox and Dell Fox; several great nieces and nephews including Rayshawn and Ricardo Fox as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousin and friends.
