Oliver Dilworth Obituary

Oliver Quincy Dilworth (affectionately known as "Pete") was born on July 16,1931, in Detroit, MI., to the late Arthur and Bertha Dilworth. Pete was the youngest of seven children born to that union; siblings Lawrence, Arthur Jr., Arthur, Raymond, Etta (all whom proceded him in death) and Elsie.
Pete accepted Christ at an early age. He attened Northwestern High School, where upon graduating, hired into Ford Motor Company. Pete would soon afterwards be drafted by the United States Air Force to serve in the Korean War. With the end of the was and having completed his service, he returned to Ford Motor Company. During his employment for Ford, he became a Master Mason with the Most Worshipful King David Lodge Chapter 12 and earned his Bachelor of Sience degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Detroit. Pete retired from Ford with over 50 yers of commendable service.
Because Pete didn't want to just "sit around" after retiring, he became the church administrator of Pure Word Missionary Baptist Church at the request of the paster, Rev. Dr. Samuel Stephens. Pete loved the Lord and didn't take his duties as the church administrator lightly. If you couldn't reach him by phone, you could always drive up t othe church and find him there.
In his earlier years, Pete married Prisscilla Stroud and to that union four children were born, Neal, Gill, Peter and Tina. Priscilla and Gill would preceed him in death.
In his later years, Pete would find love again when he met and married Deidra Brazell-Perry.
Pete loved children so it came natural for him to welcome her daughters, Tasia and Brooks, with open arms. Pete was a very likable person so it wasn't hard for her family to accept him as if he had always been around. Pered was affectionately called "Uncle Peach" by some of her family members but was lovingly called "Punkin" by his wife who stood by his side until the very end.
After fighting the good fight, Pete was called home to glory on March 10,2021. He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife Diedra (Dee); two sons, Neal Sr. (Pam) and Peter; one daugther Tina (Andre); two step-daughters, Tasia and Brooke (Michael Jr.); three grandchildren, Corey, Neal Jr. and Alexis; five step grandchildren, Aril II, Donte', Michael III, Amiya and Jayce; one sister Elsie; three god-daughters, Rahsida, Rahnetta and Rahshell; Pastor and Rev.
