Morrell Locke Obituary
MORRELL CARLTON LOCKE Born in Belize City, Belize on March 10, 1939 to Gladys Ionie Robateau and Kenneth Locke.
MORRELL attended Wesley School and Technical College in Belize. After graduation, he worked as an apprentice at the Public Works Department and later as an architect with Frank J. Spooner Architecture Firm. He migrated permanently to Detroit Michigan in December 1967 and continued working for several architectural firms. In 1980, he met his current wife Mary, fell in love and got married in 1985. Morrell and Mary enjoyed travelling, golfing, listening to Jazz and Classical music. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He retired in 2001 from DTE Energy (formally MichCon). He and Mary continued to enjoy traveling. He loved returning home to Belize with his wife Mary and introducing her to his culture.
After living a full 78 years, Morrell departed this life on January 19, 2018. He leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife Mary and children: Denise, Jeffrey (Jacqueline) and Maurice Sr. (Mary N.). He will be missed by his grandchildren: Andrea, Christopher, Maurice II, Nikolas, Evan, Tamera, Jaylend and Karishma; great-grandchildren: Keatan, Richard, Malik and one on the way.
He is also survived by six siblings: Reuben (Lois), Irma, Hubert, Merlene (Ernest), Joan (Lincoln) and Annette (Emerson). Ernest who preceded him in death, and a host of relatives and friends.
