Mona Talton Obituary
Mona Lisa Talton age 55, of Canton , Michigan made her heavenly transition on Sunday, April 21, 2019. Mona Lisa Talton was born February 17, 1964 to Henry Lewis and Naomi Seleta Bledsoe at Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Both of her parents had preceded her in death.
Mona attended the Detroit Public School System graduating with Academic Honors from Chadsey High School in 1982. She then furthered her education and graduated from Elyse Cooper School of Court Reporting. Mona worked for several Court Reporting Firms in her career. During her career in court reporting, she met her dear friends Vikki Taylor-Samuels where they worked together as Court Reporters.
In September 1990 while vacationing with Vikki Taylor-Samuels in Texas she met Vikki's father, the late great Elder Marshall Taylor. Mona did not know God had something planned for her salvation that evening. After receiving the message of God that Elder Taylor preached, she asked to be baptized. Mona was baptized in Jesus Name and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost that same evening.
Soon after, Mona joined Greater Grace Temple O.G. Hayes Memorial under the Leadership of Bishop Gary Harper. Mona sang with the Voices of the Temple choir and was the Sunday School Secretary. This is also where she met the love of her life Terrance Talton. Soon after, Mona gave birth to her one and only very special daughter Tia Monet.
Mona leaves to cherish her memory her husband Terrance Talton, daughter Tia Talton, sisters Shirley Gaines (who preceded her in death) Diane and Darlene Bledsoe, her niece Seleta Jones, who she considered as her first daughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends.
