MARY ELLIS-STEVENSON was born on February 16, 1940 in Columbus, Ga to Lucille Turner & Cecil Curry. In 1943 her mother Lucille married Neal Stephens Sr. and moved to Detroit, MI where Mary was educated through the Detroit Public School System. She later met and Married Milton Lavern Ellis Sr. in 1962 and from that 22 year union two children were born, Tonya Michele Ellis and Milton Lavern Ellis Jr. She later married Leon Stevenson in 1994, where she stayed married until her death. Mary started working for the University of Michigan Hospital in 1972 as a Pharmacy Technician. In 1981 she began working at the Veterans Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she retired in 1993. While enjoying retirement she loved spending time with her family, going to the movies, taking long walks & traveling on the truck with her husband. She also loved spending time with her best friend for over 60 years, Hedy Haywood. On January 31, 2018 Mary made her transition to be with the Lord. She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories her husband Leon Stevenson, Daughter Tonya Ellis, son Milton Ellis Jr., grandson Anthony Jamal Freeman (deceased), sister Rozella Bradley (deceased), sister Nealey Jones, brother Aaron Stephens (deceased), sister Freddie Buckley, sister Christine Stephens (deceased), brother Neal Stephens (Karen), brother Clarence Stephens (deceased), brother Tommy Dwayne Stephens, sister Vickie Davis (deceased), Step children, Leon E.
