Maria Timmons Obituary
Maria Washington Timmons was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 1,1952 to George and Helen Washington.
Maria was raised in Inkster, Michigan and attended Inkster Public Schools. As a member of the Pep Club, Spanish Club and Y-teens, Maria graduated from Robichaud Senior High School in 1970. After graduating from high school, she began employment at General Motors Hydromatics Plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Maria gave birth to her only son, Maurice Washington in 1977. While working at Hydromatics, Maria met Ulysses Timmons. They then married in 1984. Through this union they welcomed their daughter, Vanessa Joy Timmons in 1987.
At an early age Maria accepted Christ. She attended Cathedral of Faith until becoming a member of the Pastor's Aid Committee, choir and the usher board. In her pastime Maria enjoyed bowling as a member of the Wayne Bowling League. She enjoyed going to the casinos, traveling with family and friends, eating different foods, as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Maria departed this life on May 5, 2019 through a peaceful transition.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Maurice G. Washington (Gabrielle); one daughter, Vanessa Joy; five granddaughters; Adgera Renee, Kalisah Asada, Kaia Sharnay, Briana Miya and Brayelle Dvai (Queenie); one grandson, Cameron Gene (Peanut); one great-grandson, Kashist Asahd and one brother, George Washington (Patricia). Maria also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
