Luther Crawford was born October 22,1941 to the late Percy and Anna Gusta (Kimbrough) Crawford in Green County, Alabama. He was the second of 7 children: Howard, Reola, Bennie (preceded in death), Henry, Thomas, and Roosevelt. In 1963, he married Mary (Taylor) Crawford (preceded in death). To this union 6 children were born: Luther Jr. (preceded in death), Glinda, Calvin, Filicia, Wendy, and Bobby. Luther journeyed to Michigan in 1968 in search of better opportunities for his family. Once he secured a position with Kelsey Hayes - an automotive factory from which he later retired - he returned to not only bring his wife Mary and children, but to also bring his brothers Thomas and Roosevelt who secured positions at the same factory. In 1987, he married Jacqueline Bailey, and with this union he gained two bonus children, Antoine and Lynette who he loved as his own and had two children, Jermaine and Jamarie. Luther was a faithful member of Miracle Temple and Real Life Christian Center, Family was everything to Dad. It didn't matter what others opinions were to you, his love was unconditional, when you needed him her was there to give you a hand - even when you didn't appreciate it or reciprocate it. He was affectionally called Dad, Pops or Poppy by so many. If you knew Dad you heard these phrases "Pump it up and bring it on" or What you wanna do, fish fry or BBQ?", He was always ready to go fishing or to the park with his family and friends.
