Katherine Nelson Buckley was born on November 17, 1925 in Wordell, MO to her parents Eddie and Frances Nelson who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, William, Nehemiah, Napoleon and Eddie and one sister Mary Louise.
Katherine Buckley departed this life, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Emory Decatur Hospital.
She met Eddie Buckley and married him on October 21, 1967. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1994. She regularly attended New Bethel Baptist Church under the patronage of Rev. C.L. Franklin. Katherine was an autoworker who retired from a small factory in Livonia, MI and later became a homemaker who enjoyed time with family and visiting the racetrack and casino.
She leaves to cherish her memory; a step-daughter, Barbara Mitchell of Detroit, MI, a devoted sister, Verndean Brumfield of Stone Mountain, GA, three brothers, Merl (Jackie) of Huntsville, AL, John of Canton, Mi, Lawrence (Rosetta) of Snellville, GA and two sister-in-laws, Novella Nelson of Inkster, MI and Lena Buckley of Detroit. She also leaves to mourn her passing, a special friend, Dennis Gober of Detroit, MI.
She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Nelson and Buckley families.
