Joseph Bankhead (PaPa) was born on October 3, 1954 in Inkster, Michigan to the late Earl and Elizabeth Bankhead. Joseph was the eighth of nine children.
Joseph dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and later joined Detroit World Outreach (DWO).
He attended Taylor schools and graduated in 1973 from Taylor Center High School.
He was a hard working man, working at the Inkster Housing Commission for 30 plus years and retiring in 2006. Many of his hobbies were fishing, cooking, and being Uncle Joe to many and PaPa to many more.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife Brenda of 33 years; his eight children, Frederick, Janetta, Donnesha, Donetta (Damien), Joshlan, Latasha (Charles), Joseph Jr., and Ashley. He also leaves his siblings, Priscilla who nicknamed him "Sukie", Carolyn (William), Paulette, Renee, Porcia (Darrell Sr.), Antonio (Ruth); brother-in-law, Michael; 20 grandchildren who loved their PaPa. Preceding him in death: his parents, Earl and Elizabeth Bankhead; his brothers, Earl and Ernest Bankhead; and two sisters, Stephanie Foster and Edith Williams, three aunts, Mary Duncan, Edmonia Goldston and Faye Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
