Janet Gholston Obituary
Janet Charlyn Gholston was born in the family home on March 30, 1944 to Bradley and Betty Doris Keith. She was the second of eight children. Janet lived in Inkster, Michigan with her sisters; Betty, Phyllis, and Joyce; brothers; Gregory, Amos, Samuels, and David Keith.
Janet attended Inkster's Woodson C. Craver Elementary School and Fellrath Junior High. Janet graduated from Inkster High School.
Janet married Robert Lee Gholston (who preceded her in death) and from this union four boys were born; Robert Lee Jr., Mark Steffen, Maurice Stewart, and Malcolm Anthony.
Janet worked for the Wayne County Intermediate School District, Special Education Department as a teacher before retiring in 1992.
As a child, Janet attended Clinton Street Greater Bethlehem Temple under the leadership of Bishop Hancock. She has also attended Bethlehem Temple- Bishop Horace Jackson and Ark of Noah Missionary Baptist Church- Pastor James McKinley Eaddy and Greater Faith Ministries led by Bishop Timothy Jackson.
Janet was amazing at uplifting the spirits of everyone she came in contact with.
Janet was preceded in death by: four brothers, Bradley (Lula) Keith III, and Adolphus Keith, Michael Keith, and Bradley Keith II; and four sisters, Phyllis Keith, Garnet Thomas, Maxine Mackie and most recently, Dr. Gloria Keith Houser.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her memory: her four sons, Robert, Mark (Zena), Maurice and Malcolm Gholston; three grandchildren, Mark Steffen II, Miya Noel and Edward Myles; one great-grandson, Khalil Marcellus Johnson; siblings, Betty (James) Eaddy, Joyce Keith, Gregory (Phyllis) Keith, Amos Keith, Samuels Keith, and David Keith; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who all loved her dearly.
