Jamal Garth Obituary
Jamal Duquon Garth was born on May 17, 1976 in Wayne, Michigan to parents Felecia Johnson and to late Louis Moore. His grandparents, Lavon and Herman Garth preceded him in death. The oldest of two children, Jamal grew up in Inkster, Michigan. He attended Romulus High School. he later received his GED and became a member of the STEAP organization.
Jamal had a lot of hardships in his life, due to being a product of his environment. He studied the Moorish American teachings and changed his life in a positive way. Jamal started a non-profit organization P.S.Y (Poverty Stricken Youth) promoting youth empowerment in poor communities. He played a major role in the fight for fair and equal housing and volunteered his services at various food drives and giveaways. Jamal attended The Cream Covid Relief embassy to discuss treatment of blacks in the community.
He loved his family very much always cracking jokes and makin everyone laugh. Jamal took pride in protecting everyone he loved.
Jamal departed this life on Saturday, July 18, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: his devoted mother , Felecia Johnson, stepdad, Willie Johnson,sister Wilicia Johnson, his children, Ty'Ken Ellis, DaShawn Whitlow and Catherine Whitlow, granddaughter, A 'Rayah Morrison, his girlfriends, Porsche Love; favorite niece Jan'i Lately; special nephew, Aydin Thomas, cousin/sister, Shannan Springer, cousin/sister Kymanaya Springer and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
