Jack Edward Poteet, 70, of Taylor, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019. He was born June 8, 1948 to the late Jack Orn and Faye Collins Poteet.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving parents and brother, Vance S. Poteet.
Jack served in the United States Army from June 28, 1965 until June 28, 1968. He achieved the rank of Specialist, E-4. He was recognized as a Marksman (Rifle) and received the National Defense Service Medal. He spent the remainder of his vocation in the construction industry.
Jack will be fondly remembered for his signature Stetson hat, thick mustache, and frequent smiles and humor. He loved playing the guitar and singing country & western and bluegrass music alongside his brother, Vance, and uncle, Archie Collins.
Jack is survived by his 5 children: daughter, Jana (Doug) Graddy of Bourbon, Missouri; son, Jacob L. (Cindy Morisette) Poteet; daughter, Jennifer Bravo of Bakersfield, California; son, Adam L. Poteet of Granbury, Texas; and son, Vance E. (Krista Richardson) Poteet of Lima, Ohio. He has 14 grandchildren: Anthony Graddy, Ashleigh (Bobby) Carrick, Aric (Brianna) Graddy, Aaron Graddy, Aaron Morisette, Ashley Tomblin, Jacob D. Poteet, Liam D. Wofford, Vance M. Poteet, Adam D.G. Poteet, Stephanie (Cameron) Gossett, Camila Bravo, Alyssia Bravo, and Camden Poteet. He has 5 great-grandchildren: Myiah Carrick, Nolan Carrick, Brice Graddy, James Bailey, and Reese Gossett.
Jack is survived by his sisters, Brenda (Houston) Veteto and Cheryl (Tom) Collins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack is also survived by his former wife, Robin Poteet of Granbury, Texas, and former wife and loving friend, Becky Lane. Previous Events Family & Friends Visitation MAR 5.
