Jack Parrish Jr.
July 24, 1925 - January 21, 2022
Jack Parrish Jr., was born on July 24,1925 in Flat Creek, Alabama to parents Jack Parrish Sr., and Jeannette Moon. He was the oldest of 8 siblings. Jack was a veteran of the World War II. He served 3 years in the Nay and achieved the rank of Seaman First Class. After honorable discharge, he made his way North, to live with his cousins David and Emma Jean "Scrap" Carter. While is Detroit, Jack took classes at Wayne State University and was soon hired at Ford Motor Company in Highland Park, Michigan. He eventually transferred to Wixom plant and occasionally was called to work at the Ford "Pilot Plant" in Dearborn as a paint specialist. Jack remained employed by Ford for 30 years. After he retired, he earned his GED - a very proud moment him because he joined the navy at 16. Jack was proud of the home he made for his family, so he loved helping his wife plant rose bushes (which she loved), plant flowers, and work in the yard and on the house. He also loved cooking and photography. His favorite thing to do, however, was laugh, talk, share stories, and just be surrounded by family and friends. On January 21,2022, at the age of 96, he made a peaceful transition from this life. Both of his parents, his wife Rosanna Parrish; his brothers, Charlie Parrish and Curtis Parrish; and his sisters Lillian Burks, Viola Pannell and Fannie Morgan preceded him in death. His memories will be cherished by his daughter, Jacqueline Parrish (Brian Garner); his grand daughter Jaclyn Gray; his great grand daughter DahVionne Parrish, his great great grand children Dahila, and Daniel Albert; his brother Jimmie Parrish (Debbie); sister Patricia Cook (Judge Cook), sister-in-law Brenda Parrish; a special godson Michael McClure; and a host of nieces and nephew, cousins and friends.
