Ingrid Duckworth Obituary
Ms. Ingrid Janelle Duckworth was born March 28, 1962 in Huntington, West Virginia to Clarence nd Emogene Duckworth. She was the second of seven children.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at the International Gospel Center under the leadership of Apostle Charles O. Miles. She later joined Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Robert E. Starghill serving in the choir and nurse ministries. In 2015, she joined Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John E. Duckworth. At Gethsemane Ingrid served in the Health and Disciples in Action ministries.
After matriculating through Woodhaven High School, Ingrid decided to continue her education. She obtained certifications in medical billing and court stenography from the Detroit College of Business. Shortly after her graduation Ingrid found her true passion, helping people. Ingrid worked as a Meds Coordinator serving the mentally challenged community in the downriver area for 10 years until she became disabled. Even though her disabilities she found opportunities to help people. She helped people navigate through some of the roughest periods of their life becoming an advocate for those who the community had neglected. There are countless testimonies of the way she counseled and encouraged God's people.
On June 18, 2017 Ingrid made her transition surrounded by her loving family. Preceding her in death were her grandparents and brother Wilbert Duckworth.
Ingrid leaves to cherish her memories her only child Lawrence Javon Duckworth, parents Overseer Clarence (Patricia) Edward Duckworth, Mother Emogene Johnson; brothers; Jesse (Chantel) Brown, Rev. Dr. John (Nicole) Edward Duckworth, Rev. Terrence (Diona) Leon Johnson; sisters; Elsa Ruth Ann Duckworth, Trische Densie Duckworth, Charity Evette Duckworth, nephews Christopher, Stephen, Jesse, Cassie, Matthew, John II, Nicholas, Landon; nieces; Jaren, Bianca, Imani, Taryn, Gabrielle, Calleigh ;Uncle Hilton (Anges) Bernard Duckworth; Anuts Johnnie (Willie) Mae Wilder, Betty (Robert) Jane Starghill, Jospehine King, Mary Houston and a host of loving cousins, relatives, and friends.
