Obituary for Ernestine Fowler-Purdie
Ernestine Fowler-Purdie was born December 01, 1943 to Willie Darnell and Gurtie Bankhead in River Rouge, Michigan. She transitioned on June 11, 2022 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Left to cherish her memory and to carry on her legacy is her husband Craig Purdie, daughter Stacey Moore. Her grandchildren Kristian C. Custard, Alexandria C. Moore, DeVon C Shaughnessy and Jordan P. Moore. Ernestine's 5 great grandchildren: Simya Rutley, Arielle, Everleigh, Ilianna and Cassius Shaugnessy, also surviving is sister Annie Plump. Ernestine's sister Artis Ayers and nephew Leonard Stanley Turner preceded her in death. Also surviving her are nieces Kim Cheatham, Valerie Bledsoe and Leslie Thruston and her beloved nephew Eric Ayers.
Ernestine leaves a host of great nieces and nephews however there was one great nephew that was like her son: Dwight Lamar Harris II. She loved her family with all that she had.
We celebrate her home going and the life she lived. She left us to carry on the legacies that she started.
Ernestine worked tor Ford Motor company but her true calling was working at Robichaud High School. She loved the children of Robi and they loved her. She has left lasting memories on all the hearts that she touched and she will be missed but never forgotten because she is in all of our hearts and she watches over us.
